After spending only 1 week in Cambodia, I left the country with mixed feelings inside. It is a country of condradictions. Cambodia offerst only two spectacular places to visit: the temples of Angkor and the horrible Tuol Sleng Museum in their capital Phnom Penh. Â In the 10th century they built the world's largest religious building - Angkor Wat. In the eighties they experienced the most hienus revolution the world has ever seen. Â On the other hand, visiting Killing Fields of Choeung Ek and the Tuol Sleng Museum was such a horrible experience, that it shattered my illusion on normalcy. It was disturbing, uncernsored look into the darkest side of human condition. |
