Peru is a big country, 5X bigger than UK, with population of 28 mil. When it comes to nature, Peru has a wide spectrum of climates: beaches along the Pacific, the high mountains of Andes and jungle along the Amazon. Nature in Peru is in deed abundant. You can find 1700 species of birds here. Only Brazil has more species than Peru. The most typical Peruvian bird is the Andean Condor, which weights upto 10 kg. Â Peru is most known for its lost city of Machu Picchu. But this is not even half of what Peru has to offer. On lake Titikaka you can visit the floating villages of the Uros people. Maybe you have seen the famous pictures of Nazca lines. This magnificent geometrical lines have not been fully understood. We still dont know who drew the 300 figures and 70 pictures of animals and plants with such precision. Maybe aliens? Peru is a region with dazzling archeology where new and ever-more-exciting sites are continualy being discovered. There are so many ruins in Peru, that I cound not visit them all even if I stayed here for 1 year. |
